Contribution Reports & Payment of Contributions

Monthly contribution reports and electronic payment of employee and employer contributions are required through the Employer Portal.

Due Date

Employee and employer contributions are due to MERS on the 10th of the following month. Timely and accurate reporting and payments help maintain compliance with Louisiana laws and avoid late payment fees and interest.

Regular Earnings

Only regular earnings are reportable to MERS and subject to retirement contributions.

Excluded Earnings

Do not report:

  • overtime
  • special pay
  • emergency pay
  • bonuses
  • lump-sum payments, or
  • one-time payments such as payment of accrued leave
